Tie-bar Strain

Injection moulding presses rely on tie-bars to apply clamping forces to moulds during plastic injection and cooling cycles.

Balancing the loads applied to individual tie-bars ensures uniform clamping pressure of the mould improving overall process quality. Irrespective of process quality another very important reason to measure tie-bar clamping forces is to ensure that individual tie-bars are not overloaded leading to eventual failure of the Injection moulding press itself.
